Koichiro Sakiyama
Director, Chiyoda Kids Tennis Academy
Organizer, Kids & Junior Tennis Camps
After graduating from Keio University with a degree in Engineering, I worked in the corporate world at Dai-ichi Life Insurance, DeNA, and Recruit. In 2015, I founded Bragrance Inc., a company specializing in sports and education.
In 2017, I launched the Chiyoda Kids Tennis Academy in my hometown, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
Currently, I also serve as a tennis coach for the tennis teams at Kojimachi Junior High School (Chiyoda Municipal) and Keio Junior High School (Keio Futsubu School).
Since 2019, I have been organizing tennis camps annually. Thanks to your continued support, we successfully reached our 40th camp in April 2025.
Our tennis camps are open to all players, regardless of their club affiliation. We welcome participants across a wide range of ages and skill levels. While we prioritize safety above all, we also place great importance on creating a comfortable environment for each participant and offering memorable experiences that go beyond just improving tennis skills.
We look forward to welcoming you to our camp.
Sincerely,
Koichiro Sakiyama
<For Beginners & First-Time Tennis Players>
Even if you’ve only been playing tennis for one month—or if the camp will be your very first experience—you are more than welcome to join us!
<Let’s Learn How to Play Matches!>
We will help you learn the rules and how to keep score so that you can play a full match on your own.
Let’s work toward being able to serve and start points by yourself.
Aim to rally with a coach for 10 shots in a row—small goals like this will help you improve step by step!
We will also teach you how to behave on court, including proper manners and sportsmanship, with great care.
By the end of the camp, we hope you'll be proud to see how much stronger and more confident you’ve become!
Let’s Practice Smashes—Even If You’re a Beginner!
We’ll start with fun activities like catching high balls, and gradually build up your skills through enjoyable, game-like exercises.
<For Intermediate to Advanced Players (Those with Tournament Experience)>
For players aiming to compete—and win—in Kanto-sanctioned tournaments, JOP events, and other official competitions:
Following our July camp where we focused on volleys, our August camp will continue emphasizing net play. This time, we’ll put even more attention on smash practice alongside volleys.
We will train in various scenarios, including:
Stroke to approach shot transitions
Targeted smash placements
Smashes within doubles formations
Let’s make those “panic smashes” a thing of the past.
By the end of this summer, let’s aim for 100% confident and consistent smashes!
On the first day of the camp, participants will be divided into groups based on their skill level. Training will take place on 4 indoor and 4 outdoor courts, allowing for flexible practice regardless of weather conditions.
While we focus on improving skills in line with the camp theme, our top priority is to ensure that every child finds tennis fun and enjoyable.
We also value reflection time during the evening meetings, where participants look back on their daily efforts and share their learnings.
We place great importance on the evening reflection meetings held after dinner.
Participants look back on their day by asking themselves:
What did I achieve today toward my goal?
What didn’t go well?
What will I focus on tomorrow?
They are encouraged to verbalize what they felt and what they were told, helping them process their experiences more deeply.
Some participants also voluntarily share their reflections with the group, which promotes confidence and mutual learning.
The camp will be held at a resort hotel surrounded by the rich natural beauty of the Yatsugatake
Mountains, located at an altitude of 1,450 meters.
During break times, children enjoy playing and relaxing in the open fields, allowing them to refresh both body and mind.
Breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style, while lunch includes hotel menu options such as curry, hashed beef rice, and beef bowls.
The dinner buffet, featuring a wide variety of dishes made with carefully selected local ingredients from the Shinshu region, is especially popular with the children!
Lessons are led by experienced coaches from various tennis academies, professional tennis players, and coaches specialized in early childhood development.
All staff members have extensive experience participating in training camps, ensuring thorough support during travel, training, and daily routines.
In addition to the on-court coaching staff, main office staff members accompany the group to facilitate smooth communication with parents in case of emergencies.
We operate the camp with the utmost care for safety, both on and off the court.
